Rodney J. Crowell, born on August 7, 1950, in Texas to James Walter Crowell and Addie Cauzette Willoughby, is an acclaimed American country music singer-songwriter, musician, record producer, and music director. There is some uncertainty about whether he was born in Crosby or Houston, Texas. Due to a clerical error, his legal middle name is simply "J."
