Erwin King
Erwin William Reinking, known professionally as Erwin King, was an American songwriter and music teacher born on May 25, 1918. He passed away at the age of 41 on May 2, 1960. Throughout his career, King made significant contributions to the music industry, charting three times as a songwriter. His most successful song was "Cincinnati Ding Dong," performed by Art Lund, which reached #27 in the United States in 1952. This song was co-written with Harry Carlson and Roy Carroll. In 1949, he also found success with "Tennessee Tears" and "Tennessee Polka," both recorded by Pee Wee King, with the former featuring vocals by Dave Denny and the latter by Redd Stewart, reaching #12 and #3 on the country charts, respectively. Erwin King often collaborated with other artists, including Harry Carlson and Ernie Lee, showcasing his versatility and skill in songwriting.
