Sarah Ann McLachlan, born on January 28, 1968, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, is a renowned Canadian singer-songwriter and musician. She began her musical journey at a young age, studying classical guitar, piano, and voice at the Maritime Conservatory of Music. McLachlan's career took off when she was discovered by a record label executive while performing with her high school band, the October Game. She signed with Nettwerk and released her debut album, "Touch," in 1988.

McLachlan gained widespread acclaim with albums such as "Solace" (1991), "Fumbling Towards Ecstasy" (1993), and "Surfacing" (1997), the latter earning her two Grammy Awards and four Juno Awards. Known for her introspective and emotionally charged music, McLachlan's hits include "Adia" and "Angel."
