Yadira Cobo
Yadira Cobo is a Cuban-born violinist and composer known for her work with the all-female chamber orchestra, Camerata Romeu.
Career and musical contributions
Camerata Romeu: Cobo was a longtime member of Camerata Romeu, where she was the leader of the second violins. During her 14 years with the orchestra, she was also active as a composer and arranger.
Arrangement: For the orchestra's album La Bella Habana, Cobo arranged Astor Piazzolla's Libertango, showcasing the 16-piece string orchestra.
Original compositions: As a composer, she is known for her chamber music pieces, including Intriga de las hormigas.
Solo work and collaborations: Cobo released the collaborative song "Candú" with the Berg Ensemble in 2021.
