Teona Kakhidze
Teona Kakhidze, born on November 10, 1969, in Tbilisi, is a distinguished musicologist and historian. She pursued her education at the Tbilisi "School of Talents" and the experimental school of the Tbilisi State Conservatoire, studying under N. Imedashvili (piano) and R. Kutateladze (music literature). In 1991, she graduated from the Tbilisi State Conservatoire, where she was mentored by L. Dolidze in music history, and later completed a postgraduate course under the same teacher. She earned her candidacy in arts in 1999 with a dissertation on the interaction between traditional and non-traditional musical institutions in the contemporary social environment.
Professionally, Kakhidze served as a research associate and lecturer at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire from 1996 to 2005. She then became an associate professor at the Georgian State University of Theatre and Film from 2005 to 2010 and continued in a similar role at Ilia State University from 2010 to 2014. Since 1995, she has been the head of the artistic programs, foreign relations, and public relations department at the Tbilisi Music and Culture Center named after J. Kakhidze. She is also a member of the Composers' Union and the daughter of conductor J. Kakhidze.
Her publications include works on the socio-economic factors influencing the modern audio-musical industry and the role of music in contemporary radio and television.
