Boys Like Girls
Boys Like Girls is an American rock band formed in Andover, Massachusetts, in 2005. The band consists of Martin Johnson (vocals, guitar), John Keefe (drums), Gregory James, and Jamel Hawke, with past members including Bryan Donahue, Morgan Dorr, and Paul DiGiovanni. Known for their pop rock, pop-punk, and emo pop sound, Boys Like Girls gained mainstream success with their self-titled debut album in 2006, which sold over 700,000 copies in the US and earned a gold certification from the RIAA. The album featured hits like "The Great Escape," which topped MTV's TRL chart.
Their second album, "Love Drunk," released in 2009, included the popular single "Two Is Better Than One," a duet with Taylor Swift. The band's third album, "Crazy World," came out in 2012, showcasing a shift towards a country-pop sound. After a hiatus beginning in 2011, during which members pursued side projects, Boys Like Girls returned to touring in 2022. In 2023, they released "Blood and Sugar," the lead single from their forthcoming fourth album, "Sunday at Foxwoods." Throughout their career, Boys Like Girls have been influenced by bands like Jimmy Eat World and Fall Out Boy, and have toured extensively, including notable performances on the Vans Warped Tour and a co-headlining tour with Good Charlotte.
