Roberto Valera Chamizo (b. 1938) is a Cuban composer and pedagogue who has made significant contributions to the development of music in Cuba.
Career:
Studied music in Havana and later in Poland with renowned composers Witold Rudzinski and Andrzej Dobrowolski.
Served as a musical advisor for the Instituto Cubano del Arte y la Industria Cinematográficos (ICAIC), composing for films like La salación.
Held leadership roles in musical education, including as Dean and professor at the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA).
Authored a variety of musical works, including electroacoustic pieces like Ajiaco and piano studies like Doce Estudios Caribeños.
