Mylène Farmer
Mylène Jeanne Gautier, known professionally as Mylène Farmer, is a renowned French singer and songwriter born on September 12, 1961, in Pierrefonds, Quebec, Canada. After moving to France in the early 1970s, she pursued a career in modeling and acting, studying theater at Le Cours Florent in Paris. However, she rose to fame as a singer with her debut single "Maman a tort" in 1984.

Farmer's second studio album, "Ainsi soit je..." (1988), sold 1.5 million copies in France, and her third album, "L'autre..." (1991), became her best-selling album, with two million copies sold. Her single "Désenchantée" from this album is often considered her signature song. Throughout her career, Farmer has sold over 30 million records worldwide and holds the record for the most number one hit singles in France, with twenty-one.

Her music evolved from synth-pop and Europop to incorporate rock and R&B influences, particularly with her fourth studio album, "Anamorphosée" (1995). In the 2000s, she explored various genres, including electronica and acoustic pop. Farmer also contributed as a lyricist for French singer Alizée, co-writing her hit "Moi... Lolita".

Farmer is known for her cinematic music videos and elaborate live performances, often collaborating with director-composer Laurent Boutonnat. She has also worked with directors like Luc Besson and Abel Ferrara. Her involvement in the film industry includes serving as a jury member at the 74th Cannes Film Festival in 2021.
