Mark Isham
Mark Ware Isham, born on September 7, 1951, in New York City, is an acclaimed American musician and composer known for his work in jazz, electronic music, and film scores. The son of a violinist and a humanities professor, Isham began studying trumpet at a young age and made his professional debut at 12. His family later moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, where he played with the Oakland East Bay Symphony and became involved in the local rock and roll scene during the 1960s.

In the early 1970s, Isham was a member of the band 'Beefy Red' and later joined 'The Sons of Champlin,' contributing to the psychedelic music scene. He also formed the quartet 'Rubisa Patrol' with Art Lande, releasing albums that showcased his talent as a solo trumpeter.

Isham's career as a film composer began in 1983, and he has since scored over 200 film and television productions. He is a nine-time Grammy Award nominee, winning Best New Age Album for his 1990 self-titled album, and has received nominations for an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, and six Primetime Emmy Awards, winning for his work on EZ Streets.

His extensive discography includes collaborations with artists such as David Sylvian, Van Morrison, and Joni Mitchell. Isham's notable film scores include A River Runs Through It, Nell, Crash, and The Black Dahlia. He is married to Donna Isham and is a Scientologist.
