Pierpoljak
Pierpoljak, born Pierre on September 7, 1964, in Paris, France, is a renowned French reggae artist often referred to as the White Rasta. His journey to fame has been marked by numerous personal challenges and a diverse musical evolution. Growing up in Colombes, a suburb of Paris, Pierre was a rebellious youth who initially immersed himself in the punk and skinhead movements of the mid-1970s. He began his musical career as a bassist with a local band called Samu 92 and later moved to London in 1981, where he became involved in the "No future" punk scene.

It was in London, living in a squat in Stockwell, that Pierre was introduced to reggae music through his Jamaican neighbors, an experience that profoundly influenced his musical direction. After returning to France and experiencing legal troubles that led to imprisonment, Pierre embarked on a seafaring adventure in the Caribbean, which further enriched his musical and personal experiences.

Upon his return to France, he re-engaged with music under various pseudonyms, eventually adopting the name Pierpoljak. His early works gained attention and led to a contract with Barclay Records in 1995. Pierpoljak's debut album, released in 1996, featured the track "La Music," which was remixed by the legendary reggae producer Clive Hunt. This collaboration significantly boosted his album's success.

Pierpoljak's second album, "Kingston Karma," was recorded in Jamaica with notable musicians and released in 1998. It included a unique rendition of John Lennon's "Instant Karma" and the hit single "Je sais pas jouer." Over the years, Pierpoljak has recorded multiple albums and continues to be a prominent figure in the French reggae scene, known for his distinctive vocal style and compelling lyrics.
