Ellasón is an all-female musical ensemble founded in 2012, known for its dedication to reviving traditional Cuban and Latin-American music. The group is based in Havana and consists of a diverse array of instruments, including baby bass, vocals, chorus, guitar, congas, bongos, cowbells, two clarinets, and a violin, with a voice leader guiding the ensemble. Ellasón focuses on a contemporary interpretation of "La Trova," a Cuban musical genre, drawing inspiration from legendary figures such as Compay Segundo and Sindo Garay.

The ensemble's music spans various styles, including Changüí, Chachachá, Son, Bolero, and Canción, and is characterized by a unique blend of traditional Cuban sounds and jazz influences reminiscent of 1940s Havana jazz bands. Their approach incorporates the Charanga style, a form of Cuban dance music, with a modern twist that emphasizes the use of clarinets and violin, paying homage to the Aragón violin.

Ellasón has been recognized for their artistic excellence, receiving accolades such as a Diploma Recognition at the 2013 Cubadisco event for their exceptional use of the violin. The group has collaborated with esteemed musicians like Maikel Elizarde, who serves as a composer and arranger, and has performed at notable venues across Cuba, including the Gran Teatro de La Habana and Teatro Amadeo Roldan.

Their album "Traditional Cuban Music," released by Ansonica Records, captures the essence of their vibrant sound and commitment to preserving and innovating within the Cuban musical tradition.
