Sandy
Sandy, a musical group formed in 1985 in Frankfurt, Germany, consists of Shahram Azar (composer and singer), Behzad Pishrow (drum player), and Reza Zamini (guitar player). The band is known for performing in Farsi and blending dance and hip hop rhythms, often addressing social and political issues within the Iranian community with a unique sense of humor. Shahram Azar is considered a pioneer of rap music in Iran and was the first to rap in Iranian music. Originating from southern Iran, Sandy modernized traditional "Bandari" music, gaining a global fanbase. Despite their international performances, Sandy never played in Iran due to political restrictions. Shahram Azar relocated to Los Angeles in 1998, where he continues to perform.
