Breitung
Axel Breitung, born on August 21, 1957, in Rheydt, Germany, is a renowned composer and producer whose name is synonymous with high-quality Eurodance music. Despite having a high industrial education specializing in metals and construction, Breitung's passion for music prevailed. He began his musical journey by writing main songs for his first hard rock band, 2nd Hand. However, his real success came in the realm of German pop music.
In the mid-1980s, Breitung co-founded the Eurodisco band Silent Circle, serving as the keyboardist and composer alongside vocalist Martin Tychsen (Jo Jo Tyson) and drummer Jürgen Behrens. Silent Circle gained popularity with hits like "Hide Away - Man is Comin'!" and "Touch in the Night." During the 1980s, Breitung also worked with notable artists such as Thomas Anders, Modern Talking, Fancy, and DJ BoBo.
Breitung's collaboration with DJ BoBo proved particularly successful. He engineered DJ BoBo's first album "Dance With Me" and produced the second album "There Is A Party," which achieved global success in 1994. This partnership continued, with Breitung co-producing all of DJ BoBo's subsequent albums, solidifying DJ BoBo's status as a Eurodance superstar in Europe.
Breitung's discography includes albums like "Oineo 1" (2005) and "Freunde Für Einen Freund" (2007), as well as singles such as "Der Hammer" (1982). Throughout his career, Breitung has remained a prolific composer and producer, contributing significantly to the Eurodance and pop music scenes.
