Robert Johnson
Robert Johnson, also known as Woody Payne and Robert Leroy Johnson, was born on May 8, 1911, in Hazelhurst, Mississippi. He spent part of his youth in Robinsonville. Johnson initially played the Jew’s harp and harmonica before taking up the guitar in the late 1920s. He is renowned for his influential blues music, with popular songs including "Me and the Devil Blues," "Cross Road Blues," and "Sweet Home Chicago." His notable albums include "King of the Delta Blues Singers" and "The Complete Recordings."
