Friedrich Hollaender
Friedrich Hollaender (1896-1976) was a notable composer born in London to a German family with a strong musical background. He studied at the Stern Conservatory in Berlin, where his father was a teacher. In his early career, Hollaender played the piano for silent films in local theaters and became a prominent figure in Berlin's cabaret scene. However, due to his Jewish ancestry, he was forced to leave Germany when the Nazis came to power. He relocated to Hollywood, where he successfully continued his career by composing music for films and frequently collaborating with the iconic actress Marlene Dietrich.
