Joe Tex, born Joseph Arrington Jr. on August 8, 1933, and later known as Yusuf Hazziez, was an influential American musician celebrated for his contributions to Southern soul music in the 1960s and 1970s. His unique sound was a fusion of country, gospel, and rhythm and blues. Tex's popular songs include "I Gotcha," "I'll Never Do You Wrong," "Ain't Gonna Bump No More," and "Skinny Legs And All." His notable albums include "I Gotcha" (1972) and "Bumps & Bruises" (1977). Joe Tex passed away on August 13, 1982.
