Ingrid Alberini, known professionally as In-Grid, is an Italian dancer, singer-songwriter, and arranger born in Guastalla, Italy. She has been active in the music industry since 2000, primarily working within the genres of underground dance, eurodance, chanson, house, dance-pop, and pop. In-Grid gained international recognition with her 2003 club hit "Tu es foutu" (English: "You Promised Me"), which charted in several countries, including reaching number six on the Billboard Dance Music/Club Play Singles chart in the United States in 2004. Her singles "In-tango" and "Mama mia" also achieved international success. In 2003, she was ranked as the third most popular foreign artist in Russia and Eastern Europe after Madonna and Robbie Williams according to the ZD Awards hit parade.
In-Grid's parents named her after the actress Ingrid Bergman, and they managed a movie theatre near Parma and Reggio Emilia, an area renowned for its musical heritage. Ingrid's early artistic pursuits included painting and acting, but she eventually discovered her passion for singing. She started her musical career performing in piano bars, musicals, and local jazz bands. Her breakthrough came when she collaborated with renowned dance music producers Larry Pignagnoli and Marco Soncini, leading to the creation of "Tu es foutu," which became an international hit and achieved gold and platinum certifications in multiple countries.
Throughout her career, In-Grid has released several albums, including "Rendez-vous," "La vie en rose," "Voila!," "Passion," and "Lounge musique," along with numerous singles and collaborations with other artists. Her work has been released under labels such as X-Energy and ZYX Music.
