Tony Esposito
Tony Esposito, born Antonio Esposito on July 16, 1950, in Naples, Italy, is a renowned Italian percussionist, songwriter, and musician. He began his musical journey in his teenage years, focusing on percussion. In the early 1970s, Esposito collaborated with notable artists such as Alan Sorrenti, Don Cherry, and Pino Daniele, among others. His debut solo album, "Rosso napoletano," was released in 1975, featuring collaboration with Paul Buckmaster.

Esposito gained significant recognition with his 1984 hit single "Kalimba de Luna," from the album "Il grande esploratore," which became popular in Italy and Switzerland. A cover by Boney M also charted in Germany. Another notable success was his 1987 single "Papa Chico," which reached No. 2 in The Netherlands and No. 3 in Belgium.

In 1986, Esposito was awarded the Nastro d'argento Award for the soundtrack of Lina Wertmuller's film "Camorra (A Story of Streets, Women and Crime)." His musical style spans genres such as Italo disco, pop, jazz, and jazz fusion, and he is known for his skills in vocals and drums. Throughout his career, Esposito has released numerous albums, including "Processione sul mare" (1976), "Tamburo" (1982), and "Tropico" (1996), and has collaborated with various artists across different projects.
