Lutricia McNeal
Lutricia McNeal, born and raised in Oklahoma City, USA, is the seventh of nine children in a family where her father was a preacher and her mother a missionary. Her early exposure to music came from singing in the church gospel choir. Inspired by stories of famous artists like Tina Turner and James Brown, whom her father met while working at the Union Bus Station, Lutricia pursued her passion for music, earning a scholarship to Grambling State University in Louisiana.
In 1989, she traveled to Europe with a college friend, which led to her staying in Sweden after meeting the producer team Rob'N'Raz. She became the lead singer for their project, Rob'N'Raz DLC, recording two albums and achieving hits like "Clubhopping" and "In Command," which topped the Swedish charts.
Lutricia's solo career took off with her debut album "My Side of Town" in 1996/97. The single "Ain't That Just The Way" became a No. 1 hit in Sweden and a Top 5 hit across Europe, Japan, and New Zealand, eventually breaking into the British Top 5. Her subsequent singles, including "Stranded," "Someone Loves You Honey," and "The Greatest Love You'll Ever Know," enjoyed international success, with "Stranded" reaching No. 1 on the British airplay charts.
Her second album, "Whatcha Been Doing," released in 1999, continued her success with hits like "365 Days" and "Fly Away." After a brief hiatus, Lutricia returned with the album "Metroplex" in 2002, featuring the successful single "Perfect Love." Known as the "Queen of Radio," Lutricia McNeal's music has resonated worldwide, with her albums and singles selling millions of copies.
