John Davis
John Davis (August 31, 1954 – May 24, 2021) was an American singer known for his significant contribution as one of the real vocalists behind the pop duo Milli Vanilli. Born in Anderson, South Carolina, Davis moved to Germany in 1975 during his military service with the US Army and chose to reside there for the remainder of his life. In the 1970s, he performed in Army clubs across Germany, which laid the groundwork for his later musical career.

In 1988, Davis became involved with Milli Vanilli after meeting German music producer Frank Farian. Unbeknownst to him initially, Davis's voice was used for the duo's performances, with Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus lip-syncing to his vocals. Following the revelation of this arrangement, Davis and Brad Howell formed The Real Milli Vanilli, releasing the album "The Moment of Truth" in 1991, which achieved success in Germany.

Davis also released his own electro album, "Destination Earth," in 1984. He continued to collaborate with Morvan on projects such as "Face Meets Voice," and they appeared together on German television in 2015.

John Davis passed away from COVID-19 on May 24, 2021, in Nuremberg, Germany, at the age of 66. He is survived by his daughter, Jasmine Davis.
