Robert Bateman
Robert Bateman was an American R&B singer, songwriter, and producer, most renowned for his contributions to Motown Records. He co-wrote the iconic Motown track "Please Mr. Postman," which became the label's first number-one pop hit. Bateman was among the early employees at Motown, where he worked as a staff producer, engineer, talent scout, and backing singer. His collaborations include songs with The Marvelettes, Wilson Pickett, Mary Wells, The Shangri-Las, and others.
