Inner Circle, also known as The Inner Circle Band or The Bad Boys of Reggae, is a renowned Jamaican reggae band formed in Kingston in 1968 by brothers Ian and Roger Lewis. The band initially gained recognition by backing The Chosen Few in the early 1970s and later collaborated with successful solo artist Jacob Miller, releasing several records until Miller's untimely death in a car crash in 1980.

After a hiatus, Inner Circle reformed in 1986 and achieved international success with hit singles such as "Sweat (A La La La La Long)" and "Bad Boys," the latter becoming the theme song for the American television show COPS. The band's music, characterized by pop-oriented Jamaican beats, has allowed them to transcend the traditional reggae niche and achieve widespread crossover appeal.

Inner Circle's lineup has seen several changes over the years, but the Lewis brothers have remained consistent members, with Ian on bass and Roger on guitar. Other long-term members include keyboardist Bernard "Touter" Harvey and drummer Lancelot Hall. The band's current lineup is completed by singer Trevor "Skatta" Bonnick and lead guitarist Andre Philips.

The band has a rich history of performing at major music festivals worldwide, sharing stages with icons like Elton John, Peter Gabriel, and Carlos Santana. Inner Circle's resilience and belief in music's power to unite have kept them vital through triumphs and tragedies, including the loss of Jacob Miller and the illness of lead singer Calton Coffie.

Inner Circle's album "Bad Boys" became a massive hit, selling approximately seven million copies worldwide, and the band won a Grammy for Best Reggae Album in 1993. They continued to tour extensively, playing to audiences in diverse locations such as Brazil, India, and the United Arab Emirates, showcasing their enduring appeal and influence in the reggae music scene.
