Thomas Wilbrandt
Thomas Wilbrandt, born on June 3, 1952, in Bielefeld, Germany, is a distinguished composer and conductor. He pursued his musical education under the tutelage of Franco Ferrara, Hans Swarowsky, and Bruno Maderna in Rome, Vienna, and Salzburg. Wilbrandt also gained valuable experience working with Herbert von Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic in Berlin for approximately three years.

In 1980, Wilbrandt founded the Berlin Chamber Academy, a forty-piece orchestra initially composed of players from the Berlin Philharmonic. He recorded a Mozart Series with this ensemble for RCA Victor. His career extended to international conducting engagements with prestigious orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic and the Philharmonia Orchestra in London. However, Wilbrandt increasingly concentrated on his own musical projects, particularly in avant-garde and electronic music, exploring multimedia content and innovative musical presentations.

One of his notable projects was "THE ELECTRIC V," a fusion of acoustic orchestral music with digital and electronic elements, inspired by Vivaldi's The Four Seasons. This project was released in 1984 across twenty countries. Wilbrandt's contributions to music also include work on the soundtrack for Oliver Stone's film Natural Born Killers.

His selected works include "The Mozart Series" with the Berliner-Kammer-Akademie, "The Electric V. – A New Perspective on Vivaldi's Four Seasons," and "Transforming V. – Variations on Vivaldi," among others. Wilbrandt's innovative approach to classical music has left a significant mark on the genre, blending traditional orchestration with modern electronic influences.
