Arahi Band
Arahi Band is a musical project led by Arahi Whaanga, a prominent figure in the New Zealand music scene. Based in Auckland, Arahi is celebrated for his exceptional songwriting and live performances, blending timeless and modern melodies with a captivating allure. His debut EP, "Revelator," released in 2023, was produced by Dave Khan at Roundhead Studios in Auckland. Arahi's song "My Baby’s Like A Hurricane" was nominated in the Top 20 APRA Silver Scroll Awards in 2023.
Arahi has graced the main stage at the Outfield Festival and was part of the lineup for Nestfest 2024. He has collaborated with notable artists such as Troy Kingi and performed alongside Sir Dave Dobbyn at the Black Barn stage. As a versatile artist, Arahi also contributes to the Māori rock trio Te Tokotoru and the alt-folk duo Pony Baby. His work extends beyond music to include soundtracks, theatre, and screen projects, consistently pushing the boundaries of his artistry.
