Arahí Martínez Carranza
Arahí Martínez Carranza is a Cuban musical artist born in Santa Clara, Cuba, into a family of musicians and singers. She began her artistic career at the age of four, forming the musical duo "HERMANAS CARRANZA" with her sister Elizabeth. At 19, Arahí embarked on a solo career by joining the salsa group "SOMOS JÓVENES." She furthered her career as a vedette in the renowned "MARIFIESTA" show at the Hotel Internacional de Varadero, directed by maestro Andrés Gutiérrez. Notably, Arahí was the lead vocalist for the famous and long-standing Cuban orchestra "Anacaona" during the 1980s, an ensemble that produced stars like Celia Cruz and Lucrecia.
Arahí currently performs as part of the duo Las Carranza with her mother, Anet María Carranza Veitía. Their debut album, "La Negrita y el Guaro," features 12 popular Cuban tracks reimagined through the duo's vocals, focusing on genres such as Son Cubano, Bolero, Guaracha, and Trova. This album was released by Cugate Clasicos Latinos. Arahí's latest solo production, "Manaké," includes collaborations with renowned Cuban trumpeter Manuel Machado and famous singer Lolita Flores.
