Petre Gruzinsky
Petre Gruzinsky, born on March 28, 1920, was a prominent Georgian poet and a member of the Bagrationi dynasty, a former royal house of Georgia. He was the son of Prince Petre Bagration-Gruzinsky and Princess Tamara Dekanozishvili. Gruzinsky began his literary career in 1933 under the pen name Tamarashvili and gained recognition for his lyrics in songs by notable Georgian composers such as Revaz Lagidze, Giorgi Tsabadze, and Giya Kancheli. His work included contributions to the well-known song "Tbiliso" and the Soviet comedy film "Mimino" (1977).

In 1945, Gruzinsky was arrested on charges of anti-Soviet activities and a monarchist plot, leading to his confinement in a mental facility until 1948. Many of his works were published under the names of his wife Liya Mgeladze and journalist Irakli Gotsiridze. His first poetry collection was published posthumously in 2001.

Gruzinsky was married twice, first to Ketevan Siradze in 1939, with whom he had a daughter, Princess Dali. He later married Liya Mgeladze in 1944, and they had two children, Princess Mzia and Prince Nugzar, who became a theatre director and a claimant to the headship of the royal house of Georgia. Petre Gruzinsky was honored as an Art Worker in 1979 and passed away on August 13, 1984. He is buried at the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral in Mtskheta, Georgia.
