Chris Smith
Chris Smith is a versatile musician with over 25 years of professional experience, known for his contributions to the roots music scene as a performer, songwriter, and session player. Growing up in a family of artists and musicians in Long Beach, California, Smith was immersed in music from an early age, influenced by a variety of genres. His musical journey began with a focus on the upright bass, inspired by blues and rockabilly greats such as Willie Dixon and Ray Brown. This led to numerous opportunities as a session musician.

Feeling the need to expand his musical horizons, Smith transitioned to the electric bass, drawing inspiration from legendary bassists like Carol Kaye and James Jamerson. This shift allowed him to explore different styles and techniques, enhancing his versatility as a musician. In addition to his music career, Smith has worked as a custom car builder, a role that taught him the importance of having the right tools for the job—a philosophy he applies to his choice of musical instruments.

Smith has a particular affinity for Gretsch guitars, especially the White Falcon G6136LSB Bass, which he describes as having the perfect blend of classic styling and modern electronics. Beyond his performance career, under the moniker FITUMI, Smith is signed to Accidental Music and has a worldwide distribution deal with Symphonic Distribution. He is also the founder of Sing-Along Music Group, a music supervision company, and has been involved in various initiatives such as the #52Songs52Weeks Challenge. His music has been featured by major brands and media outlets, showcasing his wide-ranging influence in the industry.
