Dario G
Dario G was an English dance music group originating from Crewe, Cheshire, England, known for their vibrant dance, house, and trance music. The group was originally formed by DJs and producers Paul Spencer, Scott Rosser, and Stephen Spencer, along with vocalist Ingfrid Straumstøyl. Dario G gained international fame in the late 1990s with their debut single "Sunchyme," which reached number two on the UK Singles Chart and topped charts in several countries, including the US Dance Club Songs chart. Their debut album, "Sunmachine," released in 1998, included other hits like "Carnaval de Paris," an unofficial anthem for the 1998 FIFA World Cup.
After the departure of Rosser and Stephen Spencer, Paul Spencer continued Dario G as a solo act. The group's second album, "In Full Colour," featured the single "Dream to Me," which achieved significant chart success. Over the years, Dario G continued to release music, collaborating with artists like Shirley Bassey and Clean Bandit.
Paul Spencer, the driving force behind Dario G, was diagnosed with stage four rectal cancer in 2023 and passed away in June 2024 at the age of 53. Despite his illness, he remained positive and continued to engage with fans, leaving behind a legacy of uplifting dance music.
