Sens Unik
Sens Unik was a pioneering Swiss hip-hop group from Lausanne, formed in 1987 and disbanded in 2010. The group consisted of members Carlos Leal, Just One, Rade, Déborah (Sophie Guérin), Osez, and Laurent Biollay. They were instrumental in bringing Swiss rap to mainstream success, particularly during the early to mid-1990s. Sens Unik released their debut album "Le VIème Sens" in 1991, followed by "Les Portes Du Temps" in 1992, which featured some of the first Swiss rap hits.

Their 1994 album "Chromatic" earned them a gold record in Switzerland and Sweden, featuring collaborations with artists like MC Solaar and Erik Truffaz. The group continued their success with the album "Tribulations" in 1996, recorded in New York and featuring international artists. Sens Unik's track "Original," a collaboration with the German group Die Fantastischen Vier, became a significant hit in both Switzerland and Germany.

Throughout their career, Sens Unik received four gold records and contributed music to films such as "La Haine" and "Neutre." They were known for their dynamic live performances, including a notable concert at the Gurten Festival in Bern. The group also operated their own label, Unik Records, along with a publishing company and production imprint. Sens Unik's influence and success marked them as trailblazers in the Swiss hip-hop scene.
