Mathias Schaffhäuser
Mathias Schaffhäuser is a German electronic music artist known for his contributions as a DJ, producer, and label owner. He gained initial recognition in the early 1990s as the frontman of the band Sally Davis Junior. Schaffhäuser's early solo productions were released on the labels Force Inc. Music Works and Plus 8, owned by John Acquaviva. He is particularly noted for his techno reinterpretation of the pop classic "Hey Little Girl" by Icehouse, which became a club hit and was featured on Sven Väth's compilation "The Second Season" (Cocoon).
In 1997, Schaffhäuser founded his own label, Ware, in Cologne, which has been a platform for his music and that of other artists. Throughout his career, he has performed as a DJ across Europe and Russia and appeared on the radio show Hr3 Clubnight. Schaffhäuser has also created remixes for various artists, including Good Groove.
He has released multiple albums and singles, with notable works including "Love & Business" (2001), "Coincidance" (2005), and "Hedonism, What Else" (2019). Schaffhäuser is associated with genres such as electronic music, techno, electro, tech house, and minimal techno. His aliases include Math U Matix, among others, and he has been part of groups like Fanatico and The Editors.
