Bob Seger, born Robert Clark Seger on May 6, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, is a renowned American singer, songwriter, and musician known for his raspy voice and heartland rock sound. Raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Seger was exposed to music early on by his father, a medical technician and musician. Seger began his music career in the 1960s, performing with bands like Bob Seger and the Last Heard and the Bob Seger System. He achieved his first national hit with the album "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man" in 1969.

In 1973, Seger formed The Silver Bullet Band with Detroit-area musicians, gaining national success with the live album "Live Bullet" in 1976. His breakthrough studio album "Night Moves" followed the same year. Seger's collaboration with the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section contributed to several of his best-selling singles and albums. Known for hits such as "Night Moves," "Turn the Page," and "Like a Rock," Seger's music often reflects themes of love and the blue-collar experience.

Throughout his career, Seger placed 31 songs on the Billboard Hot 100, including seven Top 10 hits.
