The Rasmus
The Rasmus is a Finnish rock band formed in 1994 in Helsinki by Lauri Ylönen (lead singer/songwriter), Eero Heinonen (bass), Pauli Rantasalmi (guitar), and Jarno Lahti (drums). Lahti left the band in 1995 and was replaced by Janne Heiskanen, who later departed in 1998, making way for Aki Hakala. In 2022, guitarist Emilia "Emppu" Suhonen joined the lineup, replacing Rantasalmi.
The band gained international fame with their 2003 hit single "In the Shadows" and has sold over 5 million albums globally, with 350,000 copies sold in Finland alone. Their discography includes eleven studio albums, with notable releases such as "Dead Letters" and "Hide from the Sun." The Rasmus has been recognized with numerous awards and represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 with the song "Jezebel."
