Dru Hill
Dru Hill is an American R&B group formed in 1992 in Baltimore, Maryland, named after the city's Druid Hill Park. The original lineup consisted of Mark "Sisqó" Andrews, Tamir "Nokio" Ruffin, Larry "Jazz" Anthony, and James "Woody" Green. Known for their blend of soul, hip hop soul, and gospel music, Dru Hill achieved significant success in the late 1990s with hits like "In My Bed," "Never Make a Promise," and "How Deep Is Your Love."
The group signed with Island Records and released their debut album, "Dru Hill," in 1996, which included the hit single "Tell Me." Their second album, "Enter the Dru," released in 1998, peaked at number two on the Billboard album chart. During a hiatus from 1999 to 2002, Sisqó pursued a successful solo career with his debut album "Unleash the Dragon," featuring the hit "Thong Song."
In 2002, Dru Hill reunited under the Def Soul label and added new member Scola for their third album, "Dru World Order." Despite internal changes and label challenges, the group continued to produce music, releasing their fourth album, "InDRUpendence Day," in 2010 with new member Tao. Dru Hill remains active, known for their dynamic vocal performances and contributions to the R&B genre.
