Günther Sigl
Günther Sigl, born on February 8, 1947, in Schongau, Germany, is a renowned German composer, lyricist, and musician. He is best known as the co-founder and lead singer of the Spider Murphy Gang, a band for which he also plays bass guitar. Sigl's musical journey began in his youth when he started playing guitar in 1962, inspired by artists like Cliff Richard, the Shadows, and the Beatles. Initially trained as a bank teller, Sigl decided to pursue music professionally in 1971, leaving his banking job to tour with the band "Stummick" before forming the Spider Murphy Gang.

The band gained significant fame with their 1981 hit "Skandal im Sperrbezirk," which topped the charts for eight weeks. Sigl's songwriting often reflects his love for nostalgic music styles and incorporates humor and everyday observations. In addition to his work with the Spider Murphy Gang, Sigl released a solo album titled "Habe die Ehre," which showcases a diverse range of musical styles, from jazz to rock 'n' roll, recorded in a relaxed, live setting.

Throughout his career, Sigl has also been involved in music publishing, founding Mambo Musikverlag, which signed various successful acts. He has contributed to numerous musical productions and even appeared in a comedy film in 1985. Sigl continues to perform and tour, maintaining his influence in the German music scene.
