Lisa Stansfield
Lisa Jane Stansfield, born on April 11, 1966, in Manchester, England, is a renowned singer, songwriter, and actress. She rose to fame after winning the singing competition Search for a Star in 1980. Her early career involved forming the band Blue Zone in 1983 with Ian Devaney and Andy Morris. The group released several singles and an album, but it was her feature on Coldcut's 1989 hit "People Hold On" that propelled her into the spotlight.

Stansfield's debut solo album, Affection (1989), included the chart-topping single "All Around the World" and became her best-selling album, earning her two Grammy nominations. She continued her success with albums such as Real Love (1991), So Natural (1993), and Lisa Stansfield (1997). Her acting career began with the film Swing in 1999, for which she also recorded the soundtrack. She appeared in other films like The Edge of Love (2008) and Northern Soul (2014).

After a brief hiatus, Stansfield returned with her seventh album, Seven, in 2014, followed by Deeper in 2018. She has sold over 20 million albums worldwide and received numerous awards, including three Brit Awards and two Ivor Novello Awards. Stansfield married Ian Devaney in 1998 and, despite attempts at starting a family, does not have children. Her music, characterized by R&B, soul, and pop influences, remains influential, with hits like "All Around the World" and "People Hold On" celebrated globally.
